A first time Exhibition of Photographs that will feature the last 7 years of photographic travels between Lebanon's villages and major cities, and documents peoples' life in that part of the Mediterranean.

Lebanon with its Oriental essence, detailed architectural facades and people at their local places, work and daily routines.

BIO

10YEARS OF VISUALS

Born in south Lebanon, Fares Fares has been working in the creative/photography domain since the first university years. He holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the American University of Science & Technology in Beirut and certificates in photography and design from the Gallery of Photography and the New Media Technology College in Dublin. He recently studied Printmaking (etching) at Dublin Graphic Studio.

The Camera has always been a close friend until the passion developed to profession in the past few years. His photographs range from his dearest topic "People and Life" to Landscapes of open spaces to traditional architecture and their link with the surrounding.

Rather than the wide angled Landscape shots and classic postcard photographs of stretching hills and lakes, what captures my eyes in the Irish Landscapes are the elements of the scenery and their interaction with the bright or dull coloured space around them to form a particular frame.

"Edges" is a collection of eight detailed photographs of windows and doors I have been taking and gathering over 6 years from different villages of Mount Lebanon. Each is a 70 limited edition and of size (12x18cm). First time exhibited at the RDS Art Fair 2010.

FINN AUTUMIN

LANDSCAPES FROM FINLAND

With the presence of his Excellency the ambassador of Finland Mr. Pertti Majanen as the guest of honor, Fares opened his exhibition Finn Autumin on the 1st of April at BARISTA's Restaurant & Coffee Bar in Sandyford/Dublin.

The exhibition includes 10 limited framed photographs and 30 portfolio preview prints of Finlands Country Side and Suomenlinna Island near Helsinki during Autumn period.

The concept of Finn Autumin is to reveal Finlands beauty in a different frame from that one most viewers developed in their minds as being particulary a country of forests/lakes and lights. The Photographs are a rich mixture of Autumn colors, elements, landscape, architecture and nature. Solid colors of Yellow, Red, Blue and Green blend together leaving the viewer in a mix sense if it is a Mediterranean house or a warm evening. The Elements of each photograph are in a harmony where the viewer gets the feeling of warmness and nature intimacy.

In all, Fares again creates compositions of what is a self-seeing of the different elements and colors around.

The exhibition is on from the 1st April till end June daily during working hours

HOMELESS GALLERY

PhotoIreland FESTIVAL 2010

As part of the first PhotoIreland Festival that took place this July in Dublin, Fares participated in the "Homeless Gallery" photography exhibition hosted by D-Light Studios in the heart of the city. The opening of the HOMELESS GALLERY took place on the 4th of July at 11.00am and lasted till the 7th of it. Live music accompanied the show on the first day from 2pm till 10pm.

The opening coincided with the launch of "BLOW Magazine", Ireland's first A3 magazine dedicated to photography.

RDS Art Fair

IRELAND'S PREMIER ART EVENT 2010

As part of Ireland's premier art event the "RDS Art Fair" that took place this year in the RDS Main Hall from the 5th till 7th November, Fares exhibited with over 100 of the best galleries and artists from Ireland and abroad.

The event showcased sculpture, painting, photography and prints; Fares showed art works from Lebanon, Ireland and Finland. The Art Fair also included live Jazz music, cafes, a series of free seminars and a sculpture feature area!
